PAL ATHLETICS

At PAL, sports are more than play. They are a pathway to discipline, education, and leadership. Our athletics program engages children and youth through structured football training, mentorship, and academic support, creating opportunities for growth both on and off the field.

Our Teams

PAL currently runs four active football teams:

Each team trains on weekends, with volunteers and certified coaches providing structured coaching and mentorship. Beyond football, players receive academic support and life skills training, ensuring balance between the classroom and the field.

“Sports become a model for life skills teamwork, resilience, respect, and responsibility.".

What We Do

Technical Training – Structured coaching for skill development.
Education & Leadership – Integrating after-school learning and mentorship.
Girls in Football – Breaking barriers and expanding opportunities for female athletes.
Volunteer Engagement – University students and community members serve as mentors, coaches, and role models.
Scholarships & Career Pathways – Supporting promising players with education and future football opportunities.

Special Project: Okponglo Community Football Field

While PAL Athletics has supported hundreds of young players, training conditions remain unsafe and inconsistent. To create a lasting home for our athletes, we are building the Okponglo Community Football Field. A safe, inclusive, and multipurpose space in the heart of the community.

This field will:
● Provide safe local training grounds.
● Increase access to sports for children and youth.
● Serve as a community hub for reading, health drives, and youth-led events.
